who is this mess?

In case you’re wondering who this wandermess person is or if you just clicked this by accident, ha – let me tell you a story. When I was only a little girl I always wanted to be a princess and travel through the other realms and take photos and be a travel photography blogger… Ha, no, not that kind of story. When I was a little girl I had a Ninja Turtle club with bunch of boys and was extremely hated by all the little human dressed in pink and bows. The concept of travelling was leaving borders made of the garden fence, getting on a train and visiting grandma. There was no need to capture the moments with a camera, there were just mindless adventures that would end up with scraped knees, chickens under alot of stress and probably one of the parents sighing or yelling. As time has passed borders became bigger and more far away, which did not stop me from crossing them, but other than that not much has changed. My knees are still scraped pretty often, I still weirdly enjoy chasing chickens and enjoy new adventures. So I’m doing the same thing, but with a camera in my hand. Trying to capture the moments and things that matter to me. And yeah, also throwing in some words next to it. Maybe a funny story here or there, advice where to get the best coffee and beer in town, how to get lost in a glorious way and just basically share photos of my little mess I call life.

“We get it, you like chasing chickens, but why the name wandermess?”

Well, it’s pretty simple. I was catching my flight to Dublin, being late of course, a huge suitcase, an XXL backpack full of things that did not fit anywhere else, a book and a ticket in my hand running through the airport as one does. I pass this cafe where I see a girl calmly sipping her cappuccino and reading a book, patiently waiting for her flight. And in that moment I realized – no matter how badly I wish I was one of those people who get to the airport on time and pack the day before (not two hours before leaving), don’t forget anything and I’m pretty sure if you’d open their suitcase it would be so well organized it would be totally instagrammable, I’d never be this person – I’m a mess, but I do like to wander. I’m a total wandermess and that’s aye okay with me!

It’s like Elizabeth Gilbert said: “Embrace the glorious mess that you are” and here I am doing just that.

Cheers to the mess we’ve made!
